Title: New NAFLD nomenclature ~Redefining the NAFLD/NASH mouse model~
NAFLD in collaboration with the American Association for Study of Liver Disease (AASLD), the European Association for Study of the Liver (EASL) and the Asociacion Latinoamericana para el Estudio del Higado (ALEH) in the Journal of Hepatology, June 2023 A statement on the definition, nomenclature and method of diagnosis of the disease has been published. Until now, the disease names of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)/nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) have been used, but in order to accurately describe the etiology and symptoms, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD)/metabolic dysfunction The disease name will be changed to -associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Along with this, it is necessary to redefine the model, which was conventionally treated as the NAFLD/NASH mouse model, according to the clinical definition, and we will introduce it in this webinar.
